Creating an account with Handwrytten is easy and only takes a few steps.
All you need to do is navigate to the Handwrytten website and click on “Sign Up” in the top right corner of your screen. Enter your email address, create a password, and check the box confirming that you accept their terms and conditions. You’ll have to validate your email address before you can start using Handwrytten.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to browse through hundreds of card designs and select the ones that best suit your needs.
The process of choosing and customizing your card is simple.
First, you’ll need to select the template that works best for your store. You can browse through hundreds of templates in a variety of styles and themes to ensure you find one that suits the mood/tone you’re aiming for.
Once you’ve chosen a design, you can customize it further by adding text, images, or emojis. You’ll also be able to pick a card size and background color, which will give your cards an even more personalized touch.
All of this customization can be done at no additional fees and with minimal effort – making it easy to create the perfect card for each customer.
When you’re ready to install the Handwrytten App on your Shopify store, head over to the Shopify App Store. Search for “Handwrytten” and select it from the results. Click on “Add App” and log in with your Handwrytten username and password. Once logged in, you’ll be able to start using the app right away.
Now that we’ve got Handwrytten set up in your Shopify account, let’s talk about two different ways to set up triggers to automatically send handwritten notes to your customers, whether you’re an automotive dealer, realtor, or non-profit owner.
The first type of trigger you can set up is for a customer’s first order.
To do this, select “Add New Trigger” in the Shopify platform and choose “First Order Placed” from the dropdown menu.
Next, pick either a pre-made or custom card and type out your thank you message – including a personal touch such as “Dear ____” and a signature (or handwriting-style).
Make sure to save this trigger, and all future customers who make their first purchase with you will automatically receive a personalized note!
The second type of trigger you can set up is for a specific item purchased.
To do this, select “Add New Trigger” in the Shopify platform and choose “Specific Item Purchased” from the dropdown menu. Then, choose the item you’d like to associate with this trigger from your inventory list and select either a pre-made or custom card.
Write a personalized note related to the item, such as “We hope you enjoy the ____,” and save this trigger.
Now, any customer who purchases that specific item will automatically receive this personalized note!
Before you go live with your handwritten notes, it’s always a good idea to use test mode and take advantage of Handwrytten’s fail-safe measure. Test mode allows you to mimic the process of sending out notes without actually doing so – giving you a chance to preview what your note will look like before it gets sent out. It also verifies the system’s ability to process transactions, so you can be sure everything works as it is meant to.
To use test mode, just toggle the “Test” switch from off to on under Settings in the Handwrytten App. Then, check your past orders section to view a dummy note. Like we already said, this gives you a chance to make any changes before sending it out for real.
